Показатель, определяющий, сколько раз 2 цепи замкнутой молекулы пересекают друг друга в пространстве, т.е. Ч."з." равно числу оборотов, которое одна цепь ДНК совершает вокруг другой цепи при условии, что молекула ДНК мысленно расправлена в одной плоскости; Ч."з." — L=W+T, где T - определяемое числом пар оснований на виток число витков в двойной спирали ДНК, а W - число оборотов оси спирали в пространстве, т.е. число супервитков.
